Fourth graders will participate in a classroom discussion about heroes, showcasing their understanding of a variety of texts they have read. Students engaged in a Socratic seminar will use annotated texts to discuss with their classmates. Knowledge will have been built through close reading of complex texts and the seminar will be facilitated by the classroom teacher. Students will come to the discussion prepared, with notes from a culmination of the work done throughout the unit. |
