SUMMARY |
KEY INFORMATION |
||
Fifth grade students will become museum curators! This cornerstone will allow students to deepen their thinking around the significant people and events from the Civil War and Reconstruction. They will activate their background knowledge from the unit, synthesizing and analyzing information from multiple sources to support their newly created museum exhibit. This Cornerstone will provide students the exciting opportunity to curate their very own exhibit. A select amount of the district’s Cornerstone projects will be chosen to be on temporary display at the newly opened Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C.
